Associate Partners

Associate Partners work directly with an existing partner to have materials included in dLOC, but do not apply to participate in governance. The dLOC Executive Board created the Associate Partner category in 2009 to support common community needs. For example, Associate Partners are often scholars who have one-time collection projects, institutions with one-time collections because they are closing, and institutions where full participation is not feasible (e.g., many partners work with the Biblioteca Nacional and the University of Florida on Cuba-only materials with the Celebrating Cuba! Program; UF leads for work related to Panama with the Panama Museum as part of UF, two scholars from UPR-RP who are on the Scholarly Board lead collaborations with multiple smaller institutions and scholars in Puerto Rico).

Associate Partners cannot commit to participating in governance and ongoing activities, and so collaborate directly with an existing dLOC partner for inclusion in relevant community activities to the extent possible.
